Massive Flooding in Trinidad & Tobago due to Climate Change?

Trinidad and Tobago has been hit with massive flooding in recent days experiencing record rainfall immediately after an earthquake on Oct 19th that has been followed by six others in one week alone.

Caribbean leaders including Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit of Dominica and Jamaican Foreign Minister Kamina Johnson Smith have blamed the weather events on global climate change.

The series of islands in the Caribbean which sit near the biggest polluter, the United States find themselves at the mercy off the actions of their powerful neighbor to the North. Any efforts by the coalition of Caribbean islands is unlikely to yield much in the way of results if the United States doesn’t also do its part to reduce greenhouse emissions.

Famous Trinidadians Nikki Minaj and Winston Duke tweeted their concern for their mother island.
